These mountain bikes are just the thing! Cycling around Mull Cyclists Welcome


For cyclists, there are several dedicated cycle tracks on the island.

  • Route 1 makes an interesting circular route from Arle and goes past the Eagle hide on Loch Frisa 16 miles

  • Route 2 is a circular route from Arle, to Tobermory, taking in a small ferry to the mainland (Drimnin, timetable on right) and back via the Lochaline/Fishnish ferry (timetable here) 26 miles

  • Route 3 goes from Tobermory around Bloody Bay and is best suited for mountain biking 19 miles

  • Route 4 goes around the top of the island passing Calgary Bay 38 miles

    Mountain bikes can be hired from Browns Hardware shop in Tobermory.

    The Lodge has good facilities for cycling clubs and individual cyclists. There is a drying room and a garage for safe cycle storage.
